Getting here:
The Fortress in Komárno is located at the confluence of the Danube and Váh rivers, on the eastern edge of the Great Rye Island. It is easily accessible from all major roads leading from Bratislava, Nové Zámky, and Hungary. Visitors can reach the main gate of the fortress on foot or by bike (as the EuroVelo 6 cycling route runs along the fortress) or by car via Hradná Street. A large parking lot is located in front of the fortress, which is also suitable for buses (GPS coordinates: 47°45’19.6″N 18°08’01.5″E).
The ticket office is located in the Barracks building within the Fortress, with entrance through the Leopold Gate. Please note that the ticket office opens only 30 minutes before the tour.
The nearest bus stop for lines 2, 3, and 8 is located at Vnútorná okružná – park. The current timetable can be found HERE.
