Information before the guided tours:

The Fortress in Komárno does not belong to any networks of museums, respectively any publicly accessible monuments. The buildings are in poor and desolate condition. However, due to its architectural and historical values, the town of Komárno, as the owner of the monument, decided to make the Fortress accessible to the general public in the form of guided tours. The income from the entrance fees is used for the conservation, maintenance and presentation of this outstanding historical monument.

For safety reasons it is possible to take a tour in the Fortress only with a tourist guide!

Individual visits (without a guide) are not possible due to the unsatisfactory condition and great size of the Fortress! The minimum number of visitors is two persons!

As we have visitors from various countries, the guided tours are organised in two languages at the same time. Therefore, we kindly ask you for your patience and understanding. Thank you.

Visitors are advised to have comfortable hiking shoes, as the tours take place mainly outdoors for approximately 1 – 1.5 hours. We also recommend bringing flash-lights, as the tour route leads through dark underground corridors.

In case of harsh weather conditions (strong wind, rain, storm, glacier), during holidays or other events carried out in the fortress, we reserve the right to adjust the opening hours, limit the tours or close the fortress to the public.

The Fortress can also be visited with wheelchairs, prams and dogs (however, dogs must be on a leash and provided with muzzles).

It is strictly forbidden to leave the indicated tourist route and move around in the fortress without a guide! Going up to the top of the fortress is prohibited because of  the risk of falling or getting injured!

Parents or accompanying adults are responsible for the safety and behaviour of their children!

Information for groups:

Visits of groups above 10 persons should be consulted minimum 5 working days prior to the actual visit.

We also ask the groups to arrive in time for their visit. Please inform us immediately if the group is in delay. In case of failing to notify us about the delay of the group, they will not be waited for.  The group in delay will have the possibility to visit the fortress at the next time of entry.

In case of school groups, the accompanying teachers are responsible for the safety and behaviour of the students!
