Engravings
A large number of archival documents have been preserved about the Fortress in Komárno, which help us document and understand the development of this enormous building complex. These documents mostly include engravings and drawings, which are published as annexes to various travel books, festive writings or memoirs. Most of them date back to the 16th up to the 18th century.

The other large set of documents includes plans and maps drawn during the construction and planning of the Fortress, as well as the entire system of fortifications. The oldest fortress plan dates back to the 1560s. Hereby, we offer you to have a look at some of the most interesting plans and maps.

A several interesting postcards and photographs have also preserved the military life in Komárno and the fortress system, which allow us to return over time.
